Yes, good show but could easily be a one-day event. Colours showed the way by going to a single day. Most of the fellow traders I spoke to would prefer a single day. Like a few other shows, it is two day for the benefit of the competition games. OK, since the comp games have their own separate room(s), they could still play on the Sunday and limit trading to the Saturday only.

Anyway, that seems to be the prevalent opinion amongst a majority of Traders. What do those very important people, The Customers, think?

One day good for me...I doubt very much whether folks would go for two - perhaps open at 09.00hrs

Which begs the question - why is it two now? As I said above, presumably entirely for the competitions....

With my trader's hat on, 2 day shows are mostly a complete waste of time and money - hotels, night's out, hangover cures et cetera.

Warfare at least has a thriving competition scene (and 2 of 'my' team were taking part so weren't under my feet for once  ;)) - so there were still plenty of people around on the Sunday to make trading worth while.

The same cannot be said of other 2 day events. *cough* Triples *cough*

I have to agree that from a trading point of view it does get costly but would it be unsuitably busy if it were one day. It was busy enough Saturday morning and even more so last year with Colours not being on.

cheers

Most shows now seem able to cope with being one day. Colours worked fine this year as a one day-er.

Indeed - Colours was VERY good for us this year (our highest ever total for the show) and, although an extremely long day, cost effective. Even then, by early afternoon the show was quiet.

A 2 dayer means, realistically, £250 in expenses which have to be covered.

Yes- Colours was a good trading day. Slightly better than the two days of Warfare combined, along with the reduced overheads as you mentioned.
