Mind control

If successfully cast, what happens to the soldier if the spellcaster is killed, whilst the soldier is still under his influence?

I think the soldier would still be under the effects of the spell. Bind demon doesn't end, if the spellcaster dies.

I agree the figure would still be mind controlled. A question my group has had is can you mind control a captain? As far as I read you can any non spell caster.

As far as I can tell a captain is just a "better" soldier and can be controlled as per normal.

I would rule that the soldier regains his senses  if the wiz is killed.

But where in the rules does it say that? Do Walls disappear  or zombies crumble or buffs go away when a wiz is ko'd?

I will admit there is a lot of divided opinion on this.

There seem to be two thoughts on this

1 It is the Wizards will that has been imposed upon the soldier, therefore if he is out of game off board or zero points so killed/knocked out. He will not be able to impose his will, soldier released.

2 It is an enchantment, soldier therefore still needs to shake it off.
but this also begs the questions:
1 Is it easier, maybe his will +roll against the basic spell level?
2 Does he move mindlessly, like a creature on the table?
3 Does the spellcaster's player still control the soldier?

Mind Control remains, even if the caster is killed.

Captain's can be Mind Controlled - although - and I'm going to put this in the errata as soon as I get a chance - a captain under Mind Control cannot use any of his tricks.

Thx Joe and nice catch for captains...that could have caused some hurt if not fixed.

Thank you Joe

So the spellcaster's player will continue to be able to move the model then until the spell is shaken off.

Thanks and ouch.

In the game in question he'd cast mindcontrol with a 19, so with a will of +1 it was going to be some time before Ii could shake off the spell. d20+1

Just wait till he rolls good plus cuts for enough to make it impossable to save. That's why you need to pack dispel or spell eater.
