Highlander tartan in the Zulu War?

I'm confused about the colors in the tartan worn by the 91st Highlanders in the AZW.  This tartan was the Campbell of Cawdor, which in all of my Ospreys is shown as having thin white and red foreground stripes over thick dark blue and green background stripes.

However all of the tartan references I can find online,  show a *light blue* stripe instead of the white stripes, like so

Which one is correct?  I can't find an image using the white stripe any place other than in the ospreys  and painted on toy soldiers (which have probably copied the ospreys.)

Only the pipers wore kilts everyone else wore tartan trousers or trews


Campbell of Cawdor Tartan - the white overstripe often appears light blue as an optical illusion on the background colour depending on thread quality and density and the dye strength of the background colour.

Ok thanks for the info. I knew about the trews but not about the effect of the white turning blue
