Soldados Scrappers stuff
« on: May 06, 2017, 10:27:54 PM »
So a new project a new thread  :)

a fanatic type for my scrappers crew

"Jack" was a children's entertainer before the event, although after the incident when his spring snapped he could have been repaired but his joyous yells "Boing! Boing! F*&Ģing BOING!" and the extensive casualty list ensured he was scheduled for decommissioning. Only the event saved him. Now he travels the zones with "Mother" no one is sure if he's searching for artefacts or victims, crews tend to stay silent or run the other way when they hear a sudden and eerie Boiiiiiing!

sorry for the naff photos, hopefully better will follow on

Great back story! Terrifying to boot!

Keep sharing your pics and Crew manifest as it builds out.

He's one creepy creep!
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Thanks for the comments guys

here are some if the rest of the crew

left to right its Mike, Horse, Mother, Wheeler and Jack

Mother was, before the event, the controlling intelligence at one of the major robotics assembly plants. After the event Mother took to the wastes sensing that AI or even semi AI would be deeply unpopular, she gathered around her robots and proxies, thralls and synths, Warriors, workers and thinkers of all kinds. When Mother finds a new synth out in the wastes, she will talk to them, persuade them to join and  if they dont want to join, then well, as she had a hand in building them, she has the keys to their mind.....

Nice, if unsettling crew.

That greenstuff cabling looks intricate.

Finally inspiration struck for the floaty bot/ drone

sorry for the naff photo quality.

the metal parts are the leftovers from 2 "Soul Dagger" battleships from Dark Realm miniatures.

C&C welcome (apart from the photos I know they're naff ;) )

A slightly better photo of the finished sculpt, unless I decide it needs something else, just need to create the base for it and get it painted

"Jeff" before the event overtook everything was an overseer in a wildlife preserve, aiding the humans with capture and containment for treatment/ husbandry or even culling purposes. Mother found him sitting watching over the remains of his herd. A brief mental override ensured she was able to erase the programmed protocols and insert her own. Now Jeff serves in much the same capacity as before only the herd are bipedal now!

Updated to add the bio for Jeff

I love the weird vibe you have going. Very interesting... they're hard to 'understand' in terms of getting a feel for their overall physiology (sort of like the original Alien, you never really got a good look at the thing) which adds to the unsettling feel.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Thanks very much, I wanted to use robots but Ive found it difficult to get the straignt edges an inorganic look of most "manufactured" bots and drones, so the strange organic feel of some of these is because of that. As for understanding, these are a product of my weird psyche, probably best not to delve to deeply :D.

I see 'Mother' as having made the most basic of bodies when escaping the factory the others look a bit more manufactured but only a bit.

The missus did suggest that Jeff could have been inspired by a Miyasaki film and I should look to try and create others like that.

So boredom and a delivery containing greenstuff.....

Im making a duck

The fun park avatar of cartoon duck Jeremy was never endowed with an over abundance of RAM so when found walking in circles calling greetings to the same stunted lamppost, Mother didn't bother seeing if his mind was salvageable, she just overwrote it and installed a basic friend/ foe threat matrix and pointed him in the general direction of the enemy. He does still have a tendency to go around in circles though!

edited for image size and typos
