Ah, but Matt, I was in the crowd at Twickenham for the semi-final of the Rugby World Cup in 1999, when France turned around a lost cause with an inspired performance to send the All Blacks out of the competition with their tails between their legs.

I never thought to hear 70,000 Englishmen (including me) roaring 'allez les bleus' and 'vive la France' at the tops of their voices, but I heard it that day. One of the more extraordinary but inspiring things I've ever seen.

Excuse my ignorance, but what are BaB rules? I get confused with acronyms once in a while, having absorbed far too many.

These are a set of ACW skirmish rules called Brother Against Brother with varients for the F&IW, AWI amoungst others.

Easy to pick up and play. They're not everyones cup of tea, but I like and use them for my ACW games. I have found them particularly good to introduce younger gamers at our club to historicals.

no I haven't. I have to admit I haven't played BAB for a couple of years, but those rules do look interesting. Short and Simple is always good. I'm a real rules junky and can't resist grabbing a set and reading it, even though I may never play it, so thanks for the info.

That's a website I'd never heard of either, with lots more interesting stuff, so thanks for the link too

Thanks for a great reminder about Captain Blood's wonderful F&I War figures and setup.
I think that his setup is what we all would like to have and play on.
Makes me want to get out my guys (not close to being as well painted and some about 20 plus years old)
to have a go.
