I tried out my first race using "Maximilian 1934" rules...

In my alternative history, “The Races” are illegal but tolerated because most of the participants have 'connections' with those in power.

In this case the Ickwell sisters, Jicama and Romaneque, in their green Bentley, are racing their long-time rival, Sir Chervil Moggerhanger-Lummox, who is driving a Rolls-Royce station wagon with assistance from his valet, ‘Skirret’.

Of course, this was too much of an opportunity for the “Ascension Revolutionary Socialist Party”, and just before the start time, their heavily armoured propaganda truck pulled up alongside the others.

If you want all the thrills...

...and spills...

Played a terrific game of Mars Code Aurora where both side did not complete their primary mission and Equality got the win over Hunger by assassinating their VIP with a rocket launcher.

Above: Xenomorphs guards the VIP (very Infected Person)

Above: Equality prepare for the Xenomorph (Hunger) assault

Above: Ratling Sniper (Equality) about to lose an argument with Xenomorph leader (Hunger)

Mozambique - Somali Pirates. From its standing base of operations on the island of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean, a combined arms detachment has been assembled from elements of 1er Régiment Étranger de Cavalerie (1er REC)’s Recon Squadron, alongside the French Navy to rescue the Titan and its crew

A friend came into town yesterday and we spent all afternoon gaming. We were able to play two games to completion and had a great time. The first was the 7 Years War battle of Reichenberg, using the Twilight of the Soldier Kings rules. It was our third time playing the scenario- we made some fairly big mistakes in the rules the first two times. I took the Austrian side and having sat in my trenches and been steamrolled the first two times, took some initiative on the flanks. That proved a good decision, as the Prussian reinforcements were split up to deal with my feints and the enemy didn’t have enough bodies to storm the centre before my reinforcements arrived. It proved a very close game - if the Prussian army morale held a little longer they probably would have broken a couple more Austrian units and forced the Austrians to break.

The second game was a small test match using the One Page Rules fantasy regiments variant. Forgot to take pics, but it was a fun quick game and I expect to play them again.

The picture shows a hot fight for the heights, as close range artillery fire broke a unit of Prussian musketeers. The Austrian artillery were MVPs, breaking several enemy units during the battle.

More pics in the thread on the Big Battalions page:

We had a game of Charge! (Young and Lawford, 1967) last Saturday at our local convention, Barrage, using just over a thousand Prince August 40mm home cast figures, with a scenario looosly based on Fontenoy, 1745.

As usual, after exploring a Western scenario, we dive into a Star Wars-themed adventure. Presenting "The Fabled Treasure of Possum Gus" in a galaxy far, far away.
