War of Three Kings. Barry Hilton ran through his rule set today with myself and Ray Boyles, using my 1672 figures and my Low Countries terrain. Great fun.

Oh wow, great terrain. Are those overgrown ditches? I'd love to see some closeups.

Some cracking eye candy added recently.
Thanks to you all for posting the piccies*.
 :D

*Makes a bloke want to play a 'proper' game soon rather than the Shadespire that I have been doing recently.
That has been fun in its own way, though, just not a 'proper' game is all.

This is the ditches a little closer up. We tried to make a little bit of the Low Countries with this table.

The figures are the French side, showing the Swiss and French Guards. Sometimes I count the ditches as a feature, others not.

In War of Three Kings we did count them as a terrain feature, so there were a lot of disrupted formations as we advanced. The rule was while part of the regiment was in the feature, the formation was disrupted, but reformed once they were on the flat. And they slowed movement.

Nic,

Sorry for my ignorance. Could you tell me more about the figures/range. I'm looking for some form of government forces to fight my pirates and these might fit the bill. Thank you in advance.

Hi Timmo

They are North Star 1672: http://northstarfigures.com/list.php?man=123&page=1

The range is a bit early for the Golden Age, but perfect for Capt Morgan buccaneer type stuff.

We do this Golden Age of Pirates range: http://northstarfigures.com/list.php?man=173&page=1

But that's exactly what happened: There was a random event where a pall of smoke hangs in front of the shooting unit - which was to my advantage, as I had to advance towards the building. It didn't help that my opponent accidentally set the building aflame some turns before (another random event)  lol  With sheer luck, he managed to extinguish the fire before he had to abandon his post though.
