Old School wargaming with Regiment of Foot by Peter Pig, using vintage 25mm Late Royalists vs Late Parliamentarians (Minifigs and Hinchcliffe)
We hadn't played the rules for a while but after a bit of a false start we got back into the swing of the rules fairly easily.
It would have been nice if some of the Royalists had actually turned up on the table for the start of the battle!

As you can see in the second photo, the Royalist centre is looking a bit empty, consisting of one man and his dog fending off a unit of veteran foot! ;D The units along the Royalist table edge are the latecomers waiting to arrive.

Brevity of time to look at you blog combined with heady nostalgia makes me ask if you could post a few close ups on the Minifigs and Hinchcliffe models?

Sorry, I just took a few piccis with my phone and they all look blurry in close up. I'll try to get some better close ups when the armies next get on the table.

The second photo zoomed well for me.

Battle of Parma 1734.  Home brew rules, the Austrians lost this time too:

15mm, great! Cigar Box I got it, and I like the way you made the little streams/ditches, beautiful table setup and minis, a pity we cannot see more pics or could read a battle report! Please, do come with more next time! Cheers!

The battle of Parma looks absolutely spectacular. I am very much in the camp of trying to make the game itself look special - otherwise might as well be a boardgame.

Crossfire in 1/72. A scenario taken from the Advanced Tobruk System's 'Axis Legion' supplement. Spanish Blue Division vs Ukrainian conscripts. ATS/ASL scenarios port quite easily to CF. Trying to manage a large conscript attacking force however, was like herding nags to the knackery. That being said, it was a painful but short afternoon at Darwin Tabletop Gamers. Apologies for the crappy iPhone 4 shot.

Nothing to apologise for - a photo's a photo (and like a thousand words). It's what makes this my favourite thread.

I also like the way you have based up the trees in small groups - something I am now wanting to try myself.
