An Assyrian invasion of Arabia. My Arabs have yet to win a battle. :(

This week my school ran a few activity day sessions for the end of year. It meant I could run some bigger, longer games for my regular gaming students. I ran two Fistful of Lead games. One of the sessions had 11 players...it was carnage & chaos. Great fun, but with that many excitable teenagers it was exhausting work...here is the zombie game unfolding.

I wrote about it here: https://thisslapdashlife.blogspot.com/2022/12/fistful-of-lead-big-multiplayer-school.html#more

Great looking games above and no doubt many more to follow...

Played Xenos Rampant at the local club. Had a fun game.

Though the elite infantry don't make much sense, unarmed cheaper aliens proved a much better option. Would have liked longer-ranged weapons and the vehicles in this case two large mechs seemed a tad underpowered. Certainly more stuff gets to move than in the usual Rampant game and the side I was playing on actually got to advance across the table during the course of the game. Only more games will tell... which is likely given that Rampant games are popular at the club.

Looks like you had fun and the terrain and models look great.
We found the Elite Troops very effective, especially when in cover - almost impossible to shift) and the Walker (Deff Dread) seemed powerful. But it's early days and all quite situational - no doubt we'll work out counter tactics and how to exploit weaknesses!

Bit puzzled by the "longer ranged weapons" comment - apart from weapons with only 12" range (which represents pistols and side arms) everything else can shoot any range they like. Their targets get a +1 to armour once they go over the base range, but (LOS permitting) you can shoot anything you can see on the table.

Starting a 28mm Post-Apocalypse campaign using Xenos Rampant

Initial thoughts on the rules are positive and the genre specific rules (zombies and running out pf ammo) add a lot of flavour without adding much complexity.

Earlier today, my gaming group played a 28mm US 1920s gangster game using Osprey's new Pulp! rules.  It was gangsters trying to rob a US Mail truck guarded by US Marines.
