Oathmark at Salute 2023.
Dwarf army attack the Goblins defending a mountain entrance. A nod to the Battle of Azanulbizar, the mount at the top of the picture is the mountain entrance, the lake is the Mirrormere and the oak wood at the bottom is where Thorin gets his famous 'Oakenshield' from.

First game against the Shadow Collective in Legion. Also the first time I gave Mando a run in my Rebels.

A tentative game of Frostgrave with a new opponent; we were both interested in the rules and decided to give it a go on my Tattooine table (I don't have any snowy terrain (yet)).

So it rather was a game of Sandgrave  :D

As fate would have it, both magic users were Witches, and both had chosen very similar spell lists too. The scenario was The Mausoleum. So the square building in the middle functioned as the actual mausoleum.

And for those confused by its appearance; the big block of styrene is my opponent's 'Fog' spell  lol

Blue Skies Wood and Canvas

The recent eye candy on the WW1 board from Michi made me get the wee (1/200) planes out and have a first try at this (free!) set of rules.

As mostly always nowadays playing both sides but the activation and simultaneous fire make it quite solo friendly.

I think I like these rules, straight forward and quick to grasp and play.

That reminds me of the first 'wargame' I ever wrote, back in my first year of college.  lol  I'd seen some references to some WW1 airplane games that I couldn't get my hands on (Blue Max or something similar?).  I whipped up a bunch of 1/72nd scale WW1 kits and used a simple chart with turns (measured at 45 degrees) scriblled down simultaneously, and then some dice to shoot, etc.

I was amused later seeing how successful Wings of War became! If only I'd been more ambitious!

I like the fleece you used for the snowscape- it has that blue tint that really sells it as ice/snow. Looks like a fun game, too!

Yes, was a good game. The fleece looks a bit bluer IRL than it comes out in photos, and I'd intended it to be whiter, but it looks OK in photos.

Lion Rampant in 1/72 @ Canberra Northside Gamers this weekend past, playing 'The Convoy' scenario against my 13 year old son. He seems to be really enjoying the games & hanging out in the club environment, so I'm enjoying it while it lasts...this includes the smug feeling of actually winning a game.

Attack on St Joost by 7th Armoured division January 1945.

Played at Lost Legion club in Hitchin.

It didn't go well for the brits who lost 8 tanks of the 8th Hussars in the attack.
