Another game of my micro-skirmisher Showdown :)

Oh, I like this. This is my kind of board/model-size ratio.

Royal Scotts Fusiliers attempt to capture the villages of Lind and Stein during Operation Blackcock January 1945 and get a bridge across the Steffeler Bach.

It was nip and tuck but the Brits managed to pull off the win by driving off the Germans.  Things didn't look good when A Company had been badly shot up taking on a BUA without the tanks able to support and the Sherman Crab was knocked out blocking the bridge that had been erected.  The reserve company though cleared the Germans and the second bridge was put in position and the AVREs spigot mortar made short work of the Germans defending the houses opposite.

It was played solo with rules I mashed up between O Group and Bloody Big Battles.

We Were Too Late

Another grim day on patrol. Those townsfolk are sure getting their gold mark's worth. No mere encounter with a wandering traveler at all. Our objective was to investigate a river on our untrustworthy boat, and we saw smoke in the distance. A campsite of fellow adventurers, perhaps? But we spied as well some horrible carnivorous fiends, and not an uncorrupted man in sight. We got our crossbows ready, as our meager transport bumped aimlessly along the shores of the river...

Meeting Encounter with some Fiends.
Map by Loke Battle Mats, Wilderness Map book. VTT mega-map KS coming.
Campsite terrain by Archon, Elven Woods.
Fiends are Mantic ghouls. Pain to assemble and scrape off mold lines.
Corpses are "Tiny Furniture's Harvest of War" miniatures. Sequel campaign coming!

Latest wargame at the club What a Cowboy WAC by Too Fat Lardies see: https://toofatlardies.co.uk/product-category/whatacowboy/

Had first wargame using these rules, 6 players with only one having played before and worked out well. Many concurred preference for these rules over Dead Man's Hand or even Fistful of Lead. Especially the no cards on the table and minimal record keeping. With players enjoying the making of choices with the activation dice. Likely to be starting a campaign soon.

Less certain was the civilians and the ability to dodge which may require some tweaking. At one point we may have misinterpreted the spotting and cover for pinned characters. A 4x4 table would also speed things up...

More showdown - we're finally getting ready to start testing the campaign-system.

Oh, I like this. This is my kind of board/model-size ratio.

It's pretty freeing for someone like me that wants to start a new warband every other day seemingly :b At least thats the itch i wrote it to cater to.
I'll get around to writing some posts about it eventually.

Really cool collection of miniatures here! And I always love to see a good set of snow terrain.

Last nights Frostgrave 'Battle at the River' from Thaw of the Lich Lord.

Great game even though my opponent got the bulk of the treasure.
