I managed to get in a couple of 6mm fantasy game with an old friend yesterday, using Nic Wright’s Fantastic Battles rules, with the Men of the City (Romans) against the Elves.  In the first battle, Chris’s elves had both flanks anchored on terrain and were nearly unbeatable from the front.  The second game, in more open terrain, was a much harder game for the elves, as the men were able to use their superior numbers to work round the flanks.

Final Game in  Xenos Rampant Weird War campaign. The US airborne just couldn't catch a break as the WWI Germans and their infernal allies(?) swept the field.

For Halloween we played a game of Fear & Faith.  Three groups of Victorians hunters invading Dracula's lair.  The tealight is to show who is carrying a torch and the limit of their vision in the darkness of the tunnels.

On Wednesday, we played our regular D&D campaign after a bit of a hiatus. We've been playing through the classic Night Below Campaign. Since it was a pivotal moment in the game, I broke out the Dwarven Forge. It ended up becoming very close run, with the party overcoming the leaders of the bandits who seemed to have been kidnapping magic users.

An old gaming buddy suggested we play a game of 40K in honour of 10th Edition coming out (last one I remember is 5th, but he reckons I played a game of 6th with him some years ago) so, as he was playing Marines, I dusted off my old Orks (and some newer Orks)... though it seems I didn't read the rules very well as I was fielding an illegal army.

It was a very long process. Took nearly an hour to get started, then over the next two-and-a-half hours we manged two (TWO!) turns. So, not my idea of a 'fun, fast' wargame...

This is very early in the game - first round of shooting I think - two of my trukks managed to blow up. Oh well...

A game of NOT 40K any edition!

We used the Restless Stars rules to fight an engagement in our Operation: Hemlock campaign.  Features some papercraft armored cars, old Necromunda models, some 1st and 2nd edition Orks, and Pink Space Marines.

You can see all the photos and read all about it on the blog:
