Books on Monmouth's Rebellion
« on: 04 July 2017, 07:31:12 PM »
After seeing Olyreed's post on Monmouth's Rebellion
I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good books
on the rebellion for me. The books in my local library are all
from the 1960's and 1970s. Looking for something more recent
covering the engagements, armies ect.

Try Sedgemoor by John Tincey (can be found on Kindle!) and Chris Scott's books on the armies at Partizan Press (Caliver Books) - hope this helps. (Steve Ede Borrett has a book out shortly on .James II's army at Hellion boolks).

I've just finished The last Royal Rebel , by Anna Keay. It is the biography of Monmouth . Very well written in a fairly easy read manner. Very interesting.
I got mine from Amazon
