New Perry Napoleonic Greens
« on: 09 July 2017, 06:31:35 PM »
On Alan Perry's workbench are more Napoleonic Russians (including the long-awaited horse artillery) and the first dollies for the upcoming Napoleonic Spanish troops :

The Perry FB page states that Alan will be starting three new Napoleonic armies this year, the Spaniards being the first of them. No clue as to what the other two might be though (Swedes and Portuguese, perhaps ?)

It would be great if one was the Swedes.

Pleased about the Spanish, would be great if one of the others was Portuguese but I reckon one will have to be Swedes (just because the Danes/Norwegians need someone to fight). I am hoping the Danish/Norwegian light infantry will be along soonish.

I'm not privy to Alan's intentions but I strongly suspect the Portuguese are on the list as a/ they're popular with wargamers and likely to sell well b/ Perry Mins are unlikely to skip such a key player in the Spanish campaigns.

Looks like badish artillery for the French...or wurtemberg. That would be really nice....to get the guys who bring Cego to the black forest area from the spain campaign. But it Looks more like spain .

The artillery packs are Russian horse artillery, as stated in my original post.

Very pretty indeed. Looking forward to these.

I don't quite get why some people seem to be really, really keen on Swedes though.

Bernadotte je t'aime moi non plus ;o)
Swedes with silly hats and a Traitor as  their King what's not to like!
Hopefully the Perrys will come to their senses and come up with some Germans in French service ;o)

Well... they didn't do much on the battlefield, did they? :P (I know this is a dangerous question, but I'll plea ignorance on this once experts come after me and I'm eager to be corrected on this)

That being said, I'm on board with anybody who offers silly hats. Historical wargaming only works based on the size and extravagance of hats, trousers and mustaches!

We did plenty of fighting in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Germany.

But yeah, you are probably right, let's make some more Waterloo-british instead!
