It's a wonderful toy or toy carrier.  I was very lucky to find one at my local swap meet several years ago.  I paid $30 for it; the most I have ever paid for a swap meet cast-off toy, but I feel very lucky to have it.  Your project looks great.  I look forward to watching it progress.

Finished installing the lights, loads of spaghetti in there now.

I have also added the first control panel so I could mount the light switch.



...and it all works!



There will now be a short pause in the project as I am off on holiday to spend some quality time with two of my best mates, Gin and his close friend Tonic.

After a bit of a break, I have found some time to get back to my transporter project.

I have made an engineering control block of some sort that will fit onto the rear battery cover.



Not sure if I like the cogs or not...

Have added a bit more to the interior of the ship, starting with the bridge deck supports. Quite a bit of guess work as I am still not sure how the bridge will end up looking, I have a rough idea, but I will make a lot of it up as I go along.



Lego is great to use for positioning stuff that needs to be vertical and have a right angle join.



Lots of tread plate plastic has been added, all picked from Antenocities Workshop, should look good when painted.



I have lots of wall panels to make, each of which needs to individually cut as the shape of the hull changes along its length.

Yes they are Ainsty bits. All of the light grey wall furniture is from Ainsty.

I spent years trying to keep my Rebel Transport until I lost it in a "spring cleaning" I'm going to be very jealous/interested as to the final results with this project.

I am having fun making this model, I can treat most bits as individual builds within the actual model, such as the access ramp.



I may over over engineered the ramp as it will not be very visible, but is was quite satisfying. I build up a box section so it will not bend.



It is removable but fits securely in place. When I was gluing down the main deck, I realised that I had forgotten to add a couple of magnets that were to help secure the ramp, so I had to change my design a bit.



Some extra strips of plastic across the ramp should stop model sliding down.
