I made a turret that may or may not get used on the top of the transporter hull.

If not, I'm sure I will use it on something else.



I had not made a scratch built turret before so rather than try to make a symmetrical turret with the same angles on all sides, I decided to make an off center weapon mount and have the two sides completely different.



I will need to drill and pin the plates on the side of the barrel as the tube is so smooth, the superglue does not stick very well.



I also need to add some counterbalance weights to the rear of the turret.

Good work on the turret and gun. I understand what you mean about not wanting to tackle something symmetrical. I have failed 3 attempts at cutting out a simple straight sided rectangular box for a signal van.

The state of the build so far.



Using some paint lids, I have made some engine nozzles.



Still need three more for the lower hull.



The turret on the upper hull is easily removable if I decide I don't like it.



I am thinking of trying a curved wall on the bridge but will make a three part alternative to see which works best.



The main crew area of the ship is just about finished.



The new battery cover is much better, I have added a bit of extra detail, but it is now just meant to be a cargo hold.



The ramp exits to the rear of the ship, under where three more nozzles are needed.



There is a platform in the upper hull that may be useful in games for the crew to disembark from.

Only just seen this - I have the very same ship that I bought with the idea of doing something similar. I'm missing the front and back removable sections thought so I am looking at what to do there as well.

This looks great so far and am following for inspiration and ideas! Keep up the good work!

The whole ship looks great! Very nice work with the engines, among other stuff.

Have you thought about adding a missile rack or two for the ship? If yes, I have the missile racks from GW's Taurox kit, happy to send them if those suit your plans?
