Islamic Reinforcements for Outremer: Faith and Blood
« on: July 24, 2017, 06:37:35 PM »
Well I have been working at a back-breaking pace to produce some new fighters for my play-testing of Outremer: Faith and Blood

This week I have been focusing on additional Muslim fighters for my Saracen Warband:

Firstly I decided to give the force some mounted support in the form of an camel rider equipped with sword and shield:

I then painted three more melee focused infantry models in light armour (Saracen fighters get bonuses when using light armour in the game):

And finally I decided to bulk out the forces ranged firepower in the form of two arab crossbowmen, the crossbow is a suitably terrifying weapon in the game so these should be a welcome addition to the force!

There are loads more photo and more details on my blog:

Cheers mate.

The Infantry are all Black Tree Miniatures, I have only just discovered these guys, but they are great!! The camel rider is either Crusader Minis or Gripping Beast I think.

Had purple become affordable since the ancient world?

Camelry??

Possibly.... but you know what isn't affordable; the amount of purple paint it took me to achieve all those layers on the robes! lol

Not until Victorian times as far as I'm aware. I guess these guys mugged an emperor and stole all his clothes. :)

That aside, lovely painting!

Really nice work on these, absolutely love the purple and the gradual gradient on the robes. Could I ask what your recipe is for the colour?

Camelry??

Does it matter FFS! Purple is a great colour to use. They look great.

What is your beef about camels?
If it isn't enjoyable, it isn't gaming!
