28mm castle ruins2
« on: 25 July 2017, 07:25:42 PM »
Back again...with another part of the repurposed fisher price toy castle...
Materials include foamcore, kitty litter, persley and oregano for the vines and dead leaves, crafting sticks and lots of watered down white glue to seal it all up...

As always...All  critiques are welcomed, good or bad...
Cheers,
Carl

Awesome project!

I love that the interiors are all playable spaces, with the openings round the back. And the vines are just brilliant!
What did you use for those?

Hey PhilB,
For the vines, i used dimensional fabric paint, (puff paint) then painted brown with a light brown highlight...and the leaves are crushed oregano and parsley with a little paint enhancement...

Creative use of an old toy and really well done. You could add a trap door leading down. It would give the castle a additional use as a way into a dungeon for those kind of games.

Excellent work. One thing I thought of when looking at it though - the shield shaped devices. Perhaps they could have a very faded coat of arms painted on each of them? Just a thought.

I like that a lot, stunning stuff. The scale looks spot on for 28mm as well. Excellent work! I'd be tempted to do some weathered heraldry with decals on the shields.
