Sikh War Project: Beginnings
« on: July 30, 2017, 04:25:47 PM »
Hi all,

I'm slowly working on my Sikh War project using Newline Designs' 1:72 range. At present, there are some figures missing from Newline's range. Does anyone know where I might be able to get my hands on some suitable (1:72, large 20mm, small 25mm) miniatures for Bengal Irregular and Light Cavalry, or Gurkhas?

I've managed to get around to publishing a first post on the blog:

And some images to wet the interest:

Thanks Andrei. I did check out the Old Glory figures, but they're a bit too big to go with the Newline ones unfortunately.

Well, the miniatures of the Gurkhas are at 1:72, but they are for a later period. Perhaps of them something to do:

Hi, I'm also building Sikh War forces in 1/72 scale.

Sean from Newline did say he was researching Bengal light cavalry at the moment so these might not be too far away, I don't know whether he has plans for Ghurkha's however I've requested some British in Albert Shako's. I've had a crack at converting my own and here's a couple of pics:

I'm also trying to find out if the old RSM figures are a match (sizewise) for Newline as their afghans look very nice.

cheers Pete

this is a wonderful project. I like the idea of 1:72 scale and you can use the Italeri medieval arab as sikh cavalry
