Awesome painting as usual!  :-*

Now, we're gonna need a bigger boat...  ::)

Hi LAFers!  :)
Again, thank you for all your kind comments...

Very cool. Although they might kill themselves shooting the gun at that angle. They have a very nasty backblast.
At least, I'm sure they kill someone when they shoot!   lol lol

Excellent job on the technical gun base - I almost didn't spot it was removable!
Well, thank you! Suggestions in your blog were precious  :)

So... today let's go on with another technical...
I tried another weathering... I can't understand if I'm gone too far with it. But... that's it!  :D

Hi to everyone!

Red pick ups are FASTER!  lol
lol lol you got it!

Love the trucks,
beat up and worn. :-*
Yes, great work on the weathering.
Thank you! I'm really experimenting with weathering on vehicles... I have painted and weathered lots of buildings/scenery (mainly sci-fi), so I have some (quite) clear ideas about the techniques, but these two technicals are the first modern/futuristic vehicles I've ever painted. I really enjoyed to work on them, and I plan to have plently in the future  :)

Today's menu:

Starter:
my first empress insurgent model. Really loved to paint it!
Starting with this model, I'm goning with a more standardized colour pattern, black/brown, to create a more cohesive look. I have about 20 more empress/spectre insuregnts to go, and I think in the end the Group will be great to see on the tabletop  :)

Main course:
Empress Humvee. Speaking about vehicles, I really like this one!  :) :) The cast have some slight imperfections, but the overall effect is great! (And I will definitely get more  :D). I decided to limit weathering to some dust on the wheels because, you know... the Army take care about its stuff  (not like some sloveny insurgents we know  lol)...

Enough for today...
see you soon!  :)

Maxx, it's getting better and better!  :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Google the ISIS in Indonesia and you'll see their "shock troops" with black masks, black long shirts and desert camo pants - really scary, and exactly as you've painted that insurgent!  :o  That is gonna look really nice in the games table IMHO! ;)

EDIT> a dear friend of mine is slowly steering me towards "modern wars" (Black Ops/Spectre Operations), and your work is being very inspiring in this field, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!  :D

I agree! Your figs have so much character. The vehicles are great, too. I will also be "stealing" the idea for the gun for trucks being a base that fits inside. Brilliant!

Hi guys!
Again, as always, thank you for your support  :) :)

I have to admit I did some Isis Google research to get inspired for my insurgents  ;)
And about falling into "modern wars" pit-trap... you know... you can resist anything except temptation!  lol lol

Thank you, but the original idea was already stolen from ChargeDog

But... isn't stealing exchanging ideas the real purpose of blogs?  lol lol

And finally... today's pics!
My evil insurgent army is growing stronger....  :D

GREAT brushwork as usual! I like very much you color palette, and those minis are really full of character!  ;)

Agreed 100%! Now - after a particularly bloody game (literally, because we had VAMPIRES attacking a UN convoy in some MENA forsaken land) a few days ago, I've officially jumped into SpecOps games! OMG!!! :o

Once again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your inspiring work and kind words!  ;)

Thank you dinohunterpoa!

Welcome onboard the Spectre family!  :D I bet your vampire game was really fun!  :)

I have to admit I can't stop thinking about mixing spectre and zombie  lol  I think we all have a little weird war tendency somewhere deep inside  lol lol

While I'm waiting for some stuff from the postman ( :D) I keep going with my insurgent army...
again a mix of Spectre and Empress minis

(can someone spot the foreign fighter?  ;))

Maxx, thank you very much! Everything is much more fun with vampires!  :D

I would expect to meet Vampires somewhere in a remote and mountainous area of Central Europe, not is some forsaken MENA desert, but it proves they are all around us! AND they are really die hard killing machines!  :o

If you like the idea of Operatives vs. Vampires in a modern setting, there are some very inspiring stuff in a pen&paper RPG called Night's Black Agents: http://site.pelgranepress.com/index.php/nights-black-agents/

I have to admit I can't stop thinking about mixing spectre and zombie  lol  I think we all have a little weird war tendency somewhere deep inside  lol lol

I don't have Facebook, but a friend of mine showed me the pictures of a great zombie game in the FB Spectre Operations page, check it out!  ;)

You're right, you can never have enough insurgents!  :D

And the "Viking" extremist is PRICELESS!  lol

Please keep doing that GREAT job of yours!  ;)
