WOW!!!

I have been away from the forum for some significant time (life in general), but coming back to this is marvellous!!! Stunning paintjobs and I have an upcoming Heroclix project for Christmas, so just a question.

As for re-paints, I use Dettol to strip paint from my figures, but as far as I know, it only works on acrylic based colours. Would it work on Heroclix? Some Heroclix have a really thick layer of paint slapped on.
The most important thing in the hobby is that you're having FUN! Doesn't matter if you win or lose.

Thanks for the kind words! I don't tend to strip the paint on my Heroclix, I often just buy a couple of each of the figs I am wanting (if they are cheap enough) and choose the model with the thinnest paints. I then scrape off some mould lines and give it a light spray undercoat before painting. Alternatively, I varnish the figs and then apply washes or repaint certain areas if the original is close enough. You can find more information about my technique in one of the blog posts.

Cheers for the tip about how to improve Heroclix. I have previously only used Army Painter Quickshade to enhance the figures, but maybe I give a little touching up a go.

Nice card terrain from Worldworks. I have some but find them in general a bit too fiddly and overly complicated for my taste. I've found lots of inspiration in your pictures though and have now ordered scatter terrain from TT Combat, 4Ground and Ainsty casting. So, fingers crossed, maybe there'll be a batrep in a couple of weeks ;).

Keep up the good work.

Glad to see you've got something useful from the blog. Regarding World works terrain, all my stuff is from the Swift scenics range, which is much simpler than most of their offerings. One sheet of A4 per wall, a bit of cutting and gluing. I did the whole table's worth of buildings in one rather industrious weekend. The good thing is they are collapsible so it's great if if you have limited storage space. They do take a little while to assemble though so if you are using them more regularly that might be an issue.

My latest report was using my older scenery from Mantic as I haven't had a chance to use it before and it does have the advantage of being much simpler to lay out the table. Not as immersive for games with characters like Batman though (swinging between buildings is great fun,).
