Who made these rather charming 15mm adventurers?
« on: August 15, 2017, 10:11:54 PM »
I got these 15mm adventurers on eBay for a couple of quid all in - a bargain, as they're really rather charming. I think they'll be a pleasure to paint. But who made them? Minfigs? Mike's Models? I've had a look on the internet, but I can't find anything that matches.

Any help much appreciated!

Aha! I knew I'd seen the style somewhere! I have some of the orcs. Many thanks!

They do have a certain something. Are they 15 or 18s?

Hmm ... not sure. The boundary seems to be fairly blurry. I'll measure them when I get home, but I think they're "largish 15s" - more stocky than tall. And there's a bit of the haptic homunculus about them - big faces and hands.

The Tin Soldier orcs I have are crouching. They're also haptic homunculi - and I like them for it (they're awaiting basing, next to 10mm Copplestone trolls here - though I'm going to rebase them on pennies shortly):

I see they still make them, look worth a try.

The 15mm 'Fellowship' set is lovely. The designer of later figures wasn't the same one unfortunately but the early figures are great.

Oh I didn't know those. They have a lovely Angus McBride LotR style! I'll have to get some.
