Custom Battlegroup Tokens, ura!
« on: 11 September 2017, 05:39:17 PM »
So...even though I'm not 100% settled on scale, and have not purchased a single miniature, I did design and order a custom set of the Battlegroup tokens.  The larger morale-tokens are 25mm or 1", and the smaller status tokens are .75".

Full colour and double sided, pretty pleased with them.  Also included a bunch of German/Soviet objective tokens which can be flipped to show possession.  These are Russian inspired with the green taken from a rusted armour sample, and the image of the aircraft is an IL-2 etc.  It was fun designing these and I may be tempted to do some for other theaters and put them up for sale.

They are very nice, are they card?

I'd put them up for sale - I'd have chosen these over the plain MDF ones I bought earlier in the year.

They are heavy cardboard, perhaps 3-4mm thick?  I'll put them up for sale simply because why not - I took all the time to do the files, but they're not cheap, at around $22-23 shipped.  The cost of single orders on demand I s'pose.  I really like making tokens, cards, etc. for myself, so once I do, I normally put them on sale because all of the work and effort is already done.

I'm tempted to do a range of army specific ones.  It's fun to design them.  (dreams of Japanese tokens, and Italian tokens...and Free French tokens...) :D

Price might be the problem, the MDF ones are about £5 a set. But look quite plain.

But as you say you have done the hard work already.

Yep, it doesn't help that it's some 134 tokens I think... lol

Yes, it is a double set really, with the morale tokens and the game markers.

Put this together for anyone in the US looking for more colourful tokens.  I may do some other sets (it's fun to put them together).  I have a German Barbarossa set almost done as well.

PS: I've been enjoying making up these tokens - is there any interest from other WW2 gamers for necessary tokens for other systems?  Even something as simple as nationality based tokens, etc.  I'm not familiar enough with Bolt Action or Chain of Command, or even Flames of War to know what would be useful to people.  The Battlegroup token set is obviously a bit excessive because it's predicated on the 96-token morale bag.  Other game tokens could be far less.  Just enjoy doing these in my spare time.

If anyone is interested in custom tokens, just let me know - be more than happy to build up a large shop of them.
