10 mast? Wow!
I think I stopped collecting after the 5th or 6th expansion. It started getting silly with the super-ships and creatures with magical powers...
But the original two or three sets made for a brilliant game. My friends and I played it exhaustively almost every week - sometimes several times a week - for about two years solid. Then got a bit bored with it. Then never played it again!  lol

We've been adding in house rules inbetween games to keep it entertaining, planning a campaign over the next few weeks as they get more used to the rules.
I've found that the first few sets are more expensive, but we've been buying Fire and steel boosters in buk so we have some internal balance.

wizkids put out some 10 mast ships as event promos, they sound massively over powered to me but I have an idea for a scenario involving one.

I imagine something similar will happen after a while and we'll get back to D&D or boardgames , but hopefully i can use this to sell them on some proper games, with miniatures.

It would be very interesting if you could post an AAR of one of your next games!

Cheers!

I haven't got a board as such, but here they are on a quick ocean texture print out in the lightbox.
All 3 have now been given trees and i have a couple of bigger ones ready to get started on on the workbench.
I also blacked in the cave on the leftmost island to make it more obvious.

Hopefully I can get enough done for a game on Tuesday!

One thing that I might consider suggesting if you make more of them is to get ahold of some of the extremely fine grit sandpaper for you beach areas. Unfortunately, while in reality you wouldn't be able to see the texture of the sand, with minis it tends to be something that looks off not to have it.

Also, with your water texture, if you have one that can be tiled in all directions for a repeating pattern, you can normally find some extremely cheap vinyl printing options for pretty much any board size you want...there's one that I've used in the local library for some other things that costs just the price of the vinyl and you may want to look into similar things in your area. Even with higher charges, $25 for a 4'x4' print is about the midrange for them that I've seen.

Got my milliput delivery so it's all go on more islands.

I decided to start adding structures to some islands, so here's a dock with very small cargo.

Here's hoping!
I started building some extra features for the islands.

My plan is to have a couple of islands with docks, One with a stockade ala treasure island, One with a ruined lighthouse, One with a lake/lagoon and one with shipwrecks.
Here's the house next to some trees and a drying atoll.

Cool.

(Note to self, a "drying atoll" is not a "thing", but a lump of damp Milliput. Took me a few seconds to realise that.)

Well in the words of Mitchell and Webb "king Lear is just english words put in order!", But describing it as so does kill the magic a little!  lol
