Awesome work on the canopy! 8)

Skyline reflections in one layer and cockpit instrument lights in another?

The result is simply spectacular...

I commissioned a set of decals for the Revell (and Spartan Games) Pelican (before I discovered somebody had already made a 'Halo' set available - my apologies to...) and have made them available to all.
Which is which? The ones in the above post are different from the ones on JBOT's site.

Be aware though that they may need a little more attention than decals you may be used to (see user instructions on the site)  http://www.jbot.ca/space/pelican.shtml
http://www.jbot.ca/application.shtml   took me way too long to find the link. Thought i would make it easier.

The only problem I encountered was of my own making - the gloss coat I applied wasn't as smooth or as glossy as it should have been and as a consequence the decal film around the 'birds' is visible.
Wont Micro-Sol or Micro-Set help in this? Or the gloss is down and no way to fix it?

started work on the cockpit canopy...
That is just awesome. Is there a step by step process to help understand how this was accomplished?

This "kit" or "toy" as has been mentioned, what can be done with a little work and motivation.
I personally cant wait till you get the Spartan version done and do a side by side.
Because if this is a toy, and i could do this work, would be my first choice every day and all day long. $23 over what $100+
Cant wait to see more.

@ Grimmnar
The decal sheet on the site is the one he first produced. I asked him to remove the 'Police' and replace them with 'Marines' and 'UNSC'. He obviously thought the first shhet would be more popular.
I used sol and set. The problem was the poor quality of the gloss coat I applied. I don't think I thinned the gloss varnish enough and it  created a textured rather than flat and shiny surface.
I haven't done a step by step for painting canopies. I don't think it would be an easy process to follow as I make it up as I go along! I might try to do so when I get around to painting the SG Pelican.

I get ya now. Yeah, when i think HALO and the Pelican i think war and not police.
I appreciate the tip on the gloss varnish. I didn't know you would have to thin it down to avoid the issue you had.
There no way to fix it? No matter how much of a pain in the ass it is to do?

Well dont want you to have to struggle. I will just send over my 2x canopies then for you to take care of it. :-)
Send the other two when i get them.
