What an interesting thread, i just found it lurking around! I agree with Fred, when the game scale is above a certain level, activation systems can be used to simulate order efficiency but the time frame itself becomes less relevant.

I'm not up to date with how his rules are coming along, but I've been tinkering around with the wheel thingy myself and it is great.

Actually, i've officially released the book as a downloadable PDF last week. A good bunch of new mechanics compared to the 0.8 version. I'd dare to say, a totally different game, other than for the wheel concept!
