UNIT Landrover
« on: 08 April 2009, 09:41:25 PM »
photos aren't brilliant as I was running against the low battery indicator...

UNIT Lanny... 1/48th white metal model I bought about 10 or 12 years ago and promptly buried in the lead mountain.
It was only when I saw one on eBay (go for a horribly large amount) that I remembered it.
The hamfisted gluing of a decade ago made it unlikely to fetch anything near the mint kit got...

now this is a particularly crappy bit of photoshop, but I just wanted to get all my UNIT stuff together...
still need to do a proper GW style army shot, but with my tiny light tent, and the low battery, this will have to do...

37 minis, including: the Brig, a Major, Benton, Osgood, two Captains, two Sergeants,
4 man mortar team, 2 man LMG team, 2 man Gustav team, 3 grenade launchers and a mix of SMG and SLR...

oh and two vehicles (so far)....

nope... closest I can come up with for the outfit is a Hasslefree martial artist, but then the poses are a bit too actiony and not as refined...

Like that a lot.  The headlights look especially headlighty.  Very nice.  Regarding the smaller indicator lights, however; shouldn't they be amber or red?

Once again: Very nice!

[I am trying to re-find the older posts about your UNIT to see the makes of the minis, but I cannot relocate. Can you remind me the makes of the miniatures? or give the other link? was it in workbench ? Thanks]

all except the Brig, the female Captain, Benton and 2 of the Mortar lads are Mo-Fo Falklands War British... Brig is from Black Tree Design, female Captain is Kendra from hasslefree, Benton and the 2 mortar lads are from Mongrel's BAOR range...

head swaps using hasslefree heads - kneeling captian and Osgood (which are the same figure from Mo-Fo - Osgood obviously has a lot more work done for the conversion), Kendra and Benton...

(the BAOR range have camo'd helmets so the two mortar lads had those filed down to match the other helmets and I completely messed up one of the Mo-Fo heads, so used a Hasslefree head as a replacement - chap with the beard)

that should hopefully cover them...  :)

Great work :-*
Lovely painting. :-*
Landrover is great.
I don?t know why you keep saying your photos aren?t very good, they are great I wish I could do as bad. For my LPL entry I almost spent longer trying to get a good photo than I did painting the figures.
(so far).... What?s next?
