Pit fighters that don't look entirely like gladiators?
« on: April 08, 2009, 11:09:25 PM »
I'm looking for some pit fighters with a fantasy flair. Rather than standard, iconic Roman gladiators, I want something more resembling the pit fighters from the first Conan movie, or the guy farthest to the left in this picture. That said, some gladiator-like equipment is allowed.

I know GW has some for Mordheim, but... I dunno. They're not quite what I'm looking for.

What about GW Marauders from the Warriors of Chaos army? Lots of bits and pieces and they can easily be modified as you wish. Bit of repetition, though nothing a little imagination can't fix.

Something post-apocalyptic you can file any modern bits off of? EM4 or copplestone might be worth a browse...

For those, how about Urban Mammoth?  "Gladiators" and "Junkers"  (Try Ebay "Void" brings up interesting stuff.)

My first idea was the old Void stuff, too - but there may be just a bit too many 'Roman' references on those too... a matter of taste, I like them.
