The animals and inanimate objects all look superb.
The human models all look terrible.
That has to be the most peculiar looking Tarzan I’ve ever seen... 

As you say though, some very nice bits and pieces.

Yep, either the proportions are all off, or the 3D render pics are distorted badly. Could be both.

I've asked and the larger pieces will be made out of 'urethane plastic'. Does anyone know what kind of material this is - more specifically does it take and hold paint well ?

I'm familiar with 'traditional' urethane resins (which are thermosetting IIRC), but the term 'plastic' makes me think it's an elastomeric polymer. Is there anything on the market that uses this material ?

I believe it’s the same material they use on their other large pieces.  If so, it paints up quite well provided you wash and prime.  I’ve used both spray primer and brush-on gesso with excellent results. Gesso is probably slightly better in my opinion.  Note, if you do not prime first, coverage can be a problem.

I asked for better pics and they put on some larger pics at the bottom of the page now. The african lady with pot looks quite ok, but Tarzan and his lady ..., well, I will not buy them.

Acheson are always slow at getting pieces from the Kickstarters into their retail line.  They do appear but if you don't back the projects there will be a long wait.

Ohh jes ... they are months behind their schedule already due to very bad planning and organising. Only after funding the Kickstarter they asked their mould maker if he would have capacities for their jobs. Guess what he answered ...

The humans are very upright and stiff and conspicuously CAD like. It takes quite a bit of talent to make CAD designs look natural and this sculptor need more practice.

This is why these projects never seem to end.  I "finished" a large African adventure project a few years back, but there are some pieces here that I will want to add to that once "finished" collection.  Thanks for posting.  Richard
