Terrain for D&D and Fantasy Skirmish Games
« on: November 30, 2017, 06:01:55 PM »

Over the last few weeks I've been working on some terrain for using with D&D 5e, Otherworld, Frostgrave and Pulp Alley. The boards are built using Terra-Former tile kits, the tower is built from 3D printed items from the Rampage line from Printable Scenery.

On Tuesday we used it in a game of D&D for the first time, however the party beat a hasty retreat before really getting inside and exploring the cellars and dungeons (the tower lifts off to reveal underground layer).

I've put together a feature on the layout on my hobby blog @ http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk//Hobby-Blog/DD-5e-Danger-on-the-road-to-Hommlet

Well done, particularly the tower's lower level!

Very, very cool!
Your printable terrain looks very similar to Dwarven Forge tiles and interior décor. If I had to do it over, that's the way I would go, too. I'm constantly amazed what wonders home 3D printers can turn out these days.

Lovely. Always like to see building interiors that look like lived-in places. Bet it gets cold in that tower without a nice fireplace, though ;)

Just seen that the link was incorrect. Should have been: http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/Hobby-Pages/Hobby-Blog/DD-5e-Danger-on-the-road-to-Hommlet

There are lots more photos on that page.

The cellars are connected to a small dungeon.
You are right about the fireplaces. I am planning to add an extra level next week, just a handful of parts left to print for it so will address that then!

Great work - I just started working with the terra former terrain squares and really like them.  Love the tower terrain

Fantastic, have you got any photos of your Terra-Former terrain to share yet?

No photos of finished boards - just a shot of a simple jig I built to speed construction:

That's very neat. I tend to just use masking tape tape to hold corners while glue dries, I figured that the laser cut pieces are always 90 degrees and we always have lots of masking tape in the workshop. However, it looks like your jig has speeded up production. I saw another backer had posted that they had picked up picture framing clamps from B&Q for around £5, and that seemed handy as well.
