Various Fantasy Warbands for Skirmish Games
« on: July 22, 2013, 05:36:33 PM »
Well, seeing as Dijit/Duncan have been at it with posting some updates about his fantasy warbands I figured I should add in my own as well.

This is my, for now, complete undead warband for generic fantasy skirmishes; for Rosetta I intend to add some death knights or maybe some dark-skinned elves to the mixture as well. Further Flesh-Eaters from Celtos are most definitely on the "to purchase"-list for this force.

And this is the start of my "civilized city state" paintscheme; going to add some orcs, elves and normal humans to this group in the near future - as soon as I manage to locate some nice shields for them to use!

Cheers

Very nice Torben! I've got goblins sitting on the dinning room table up here slowly getting painted.

I finished up another warband (or partly finished) for Rosetta today:

It was meant to be painted for a Danish "competition" wherein we were to paint up a small Chaos Warband and then play some battles. Well, here's the warband (plus some orcs that are added in all other settings but this GW-ho-hum) in all it's painted glory!

OOH! VERY NICE WORK! All the War Bands look TERRIFIC...GREAT brushwork & miniature choices. The War Bands seem to be of a fine, manageable size..."army" size games give me a terminal case of the Deep Purple Horrors of late.

I really like your warbands, especially the green/white priest type.

It's something the two of us are slowly working on, the pretext is old school style with modern mechanics. Rosetta comes out of us finding few rule sets that allow us to use whatever minis we have lying around, at warband sizes 15-30 minis, and with simple, yet solid rules.

I like the name and the concept. Particularly the bit about rules written to be solid instead of being written to market specific minis.

Any publication plans?

Just wanted to say that project isn't dead - far from it, it has now been revived into a Mark II and work is slowly progressing. So yes, there's plans for a publication and I'm hoping to have it finished this year, if real life wills it as well :)

Oh and to show that project is far from dead...

I'll try and update this post whenever possible, but otherwise I'd encourage those who're really interested to pop by my blog: Scatterbrained Wargamer

(I know the colours in the photos are a bit off, still working on how to use my new, homemade, backdrop :))
