2' x 2' games for 28 - 32 mm models
« on: 04 December 2017, 09:51:34 AM »
I had once asked about games suited to 2' x 2', but cannot find the old thread, which would anyway constitute threadomancy as I have a more detailed question this time, which I would have added to said thread. So here goes 2' x 2' v2.0:

Which rules set (of any genre) would be suited - and is designed - for a 2' x 2' board (or smaller!), using 25-32 mm scale models?
The board is all green grass, with a number of movable structures and rocks. It is not densely covered, currently the count is 2 buildings, maybe 3, and a maximum of 6 small rocks. One of the buildings is tall (c . 1') but fully closed except for a tiny spot at the top ideal for a marksman.

Thanks  :D

Mantic's The Walking Dead: All Out War uses a 20" by 20" board as standard, but does work on bigger boards

There's going to be a few more of that size soon, given Wargames Soldiers & Strategy are running a competition where the maximum table size is precisely 2 x 2.

World of Twilight would work with a 2'x2' board.

Sorry, don't want to derail the thread but which issue is this competition in?

Cheers

That's not derailing - in fact I didn't ask because I was uncertain what Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy is!  :D
And thanks for the link.

I believe that In Her Majesty's Name works on a 2 x 2.

Most of Ganesha Games' rules, especially the great Songs of Blades and Heroes (and everything that is based on this engine).

The WSS competition was announced in the latest issue, issue 93, on the last page (82). It's a very interesting idea!

Yes ganesha games very good for that, the USE ME system of rules might work as well.

What about some kind of Battletech/mech game?

In 28mm "scale" those are going to be rather small mechs or a very tight fight!
