useful map finder for French battles
« on: 28 December 2017, 11:40:32 PM »
maybe many of you already know this French Gvt portail..."remonter le temps" a sort of map time machine search engine  that will
allow us, for example once we know a battle place (write in good French please) the portail will find the aerial actual pict  of the place on the left and the equivalent on the Cassini 18 c. zoomable Map of the whole France detailed at 1:86 which quite useful for establishing the main features of wargame layout of every battlefield, in my opinion,  from 18 c. until FPW....or a a campaign...but you can also compare a 1866 Army map with the Cassini one ecc..
i'm already making some simulations  toying with Vendée Revolt place names and battles and it seem to work very well...
