Bears Head Miniatures New wizard sculpt .
« on: January 03, 2018, 12:19:15 AM »
I thought I'd start keeping all my sculpting posts to one thread. So to start the new year and thread off I made this little fellow. Halfling Adventurer. I'll probably add him to my Tavern folk range eventually, once I've got enough new sculpts to fill a master mould.

But... how can he be a hobbit if he's wearing boots?!?

Seriously great figure, the facial expression alone is a real keeper.

Fantastic sculpt. Would love to use it as a Frostgrave apprentice 8)

I really like him apart from his hands, they seem a little too big?

Yup, i agree with you, the hands are meant to be slightly bigger in proportion to the rest of his body. Something that's apparent from the inspiration for the sculpt.

My Skeleton archers are ready in early February, but I decided to paint some of the proof casts I have. Not a terrific paint job, but I loved painting them.

I did start humming the Willow theme song when I clicked on the thread.  Nice work.

This is an Adventuring Wizard. I based his face on Ian McKellen. I'd rather reference  an actual face rather  than just make one up. It's good practice for starters and looks more natural. He also makes s good Wizard  :)
29mm to his eyes.
