GW Dropship Question.
« on: January 12, 2018, 01:47:43 PM »
Does anyone have an Astra Militarum Valyrie and a Death Watch Corvus Blackstar kit?

If you do have both, are they about the same size?

Any help is appreciated, cheers :)

Not much help currently as I'm in hospital, and will be for weeks still.

But I have both kits at home, partly built, and length wise they are quite the same but Blackstar looks somewhat smaller than Valkyrie regarding the transport capabilities.

Personally I was thinking of using the Valkyrie rear fuselage (the two long ones) for the Blackstar to change it looks a bit. The body (and the wings) of Valkyrie will go for another use, it will form the fuselage for the Arvus lighter with parts from that tiny SM air vehicle which name escapes me currently.

I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Indeed!

Cheers gents, very much appreciated. Trying my best to get out of here asap but it will be weeks still as they need to check daily that everything is running fine and will continue to do so.

I should have packed some minis and paints with me when I got the call... I told my wife that maybe she could bring some next time they come to visit... she rolled her eyes  lol

Anyhow, hopefully Inso will find out the answer somehow.

Get better soon, Pocoloco :)

I got the answer... the Corvus is a bit smaller than the Valkyrie... but I ordered one anyway. It's for a Squat army so it being a bit smaller makes perfect sense :)

The Corvus is also a flier that I have liked since it arrived so it was only a matter of time before I succumbed and bought one. I will be trimming off all the Inquisitor details and making it much more plain so that I can use it as a Valkyrie for a small veteran Vanguard force.

... Maybe the leader of the unit can say "Get to Da Corvus!" in a suitably Austrian accent :)

Many thanks for the well wishes Inso :)

The healing process will take months, I presume, but happily they let me go home yesterday, after 10 days of the surgery. I expected it to be some weeks before they would release me. Still need to go for the check ups three times a week to see if everything has started working properly and such. Got also three months of sick leave...

But back to the real deal. Great to hear that you ordered the Blackstar. It will work great with the squats, especially since you are going to de-Inquisitorize it :)

Here's a lousy pic I just managed to grab quickly:

Cheers for the image. It looks like the cabin is about the same... but with the cockpit above, rather than in front, the Corvus is considerably shorter... which isn't a bad thing.

My Corvus turned up today and preliminary symbol removal is complete :) ... I just need to sand a few things down and it will be ready to be assembled :) ...

The Corvus Valkyrie has started :) .
