The window frames were backed* with clear styrene before being fitted ....



..... and the plan is to scrape the paint from the centres of the panes (which feels like it will be a chore but is preferable to trying to fit the glass after). If scraping doesn’t work - it did in testing - then they’ll be left grimy.

* IIRC, they were tacked on with UHU then had a bead of thin superglue to secure

In contemplating the right amount of horse crap texture and generic ‘brown staining’ to add to the yard (and to the road sections in due course), I found this interesting article on the state of Victorian London streets.
