Good Grief - It's only 2 minutes since you were rebuilding the old west and now here you are in the East End, do you ever get chance to play a game with your creations before you are on to the next one. :D :D

I only caught up to your Vietnam one after I saw the figures up for sale and missed all the game reports you must have created. :'(

This is looking amazingly good but I expect it will all be over and you will be on some other board before I see the end of it. ;)

Keep up the good work :)

 lol

I won’t deny that I bounce around a bit  :D. It’s often rules driven as I won’t play until I have rules, minis and terrain and then if the rules don’t work out then the project withers (in which case I’d generally rather someone else got to play with the minis etc).

Current ‘big’ projects are this, the Old West and Nappys. Also lined up in the painting queue are some sci-fi and WW2 Sicily. I have many other projects that are suspended or are destined for termination.  ;)

Anyways, thanks for the interest, it’s much appreciated.  :)
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Very inspirational thread!

What rules are you going to use for your games?

I think Oshiro Models just answered the same question  :)

Same answer FFOL   :D (which isn’t a coincidence  ;))

Have just caught up ...

And WOW !

The setup of the slaughterhouse and yard is well observed and translated into model form ..

And as for the Hansome Cab - outstanding ...

And to top it off by using FFoL a rule set  :o

Looking forward to seeing the minis and an AAR.

Great  :D

Thanks chaps.  :D

Here’s where I’m at:

The cab build was completed last night and I’ll add some photos later. Plus a few other bits such as a handcart and a donkey cart.

Minis for the first gangs (vampires, vampire hunters and Old Bill) are in hand though I need to sort maybe 6 basic bystanders (to ask questions of) for what will be an after-dark game. As well as the cab driver I’m thinking:

Drunkards
Prostitutes
Hawkers

Parts are in hand (see Oshiro’s Victorian range  ;)) for a second tile that will include shops and a pub. I’ve yet to paint the slaughterhouse as I’m still trying to source working street lamps.

Have you looked at Langley Models for street lamps? You might have to compromise on scale but you can always adapt them

http://www.langleymodels.co.uk/shop/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2elangleymodels%2eco%2euk%2fshop%2fss000001%2epl%3fpage%3dsearch%26PR%3d%2d1%26TB%3dA%26SS%3dLamp%26ACTION%3dquick%20search&WD=lamp&PN=Online_Catalogue_O_Scale_Accessories_78%2ehtml%23aL35#aL35

Mind you, they are a bit pricey.

The other alternative is the railway modelling stuff from China.

Thanks Neil. Wow they are pricey aren’t they!  And some people think that wargaming terrain items are expensive. Gosh. I’ve been going down the China route, without success so far, though I have another batch I want to try an order of before giving up.  :D

Thanks very much :)

I couldn’t find a plan of the whole thing (only from one side and without dimensions) but fortunately there are a lot of photos of the cabs on the internet. The main issue was finding the various angles, which I got around by building the bench seat first and then working out from there.

In the top left image, the bench seat is the piece above the axle, directly between the leaf springs. A spacer rises up from it to for a wider level which sets the cab width at mid-upper-arm height.

I’ve now got the bulk of my starter minis and transport to the ‘painting queue’ stage.

VAMPIRE COVEN

The Lord of The Whitehall Coven Jacques L’Ancien, and his three brides

Jacques with his dastardly henchmen, coffin and the wolf-dog that guards it while he sleeps

VAMPIRE HUNTERS

George Clark (Surgeon. Engineer. Explorer. Philanthropist. Vampire Hunter.) with his bulldog Bertie and religious zealot cum spiritual advisor

A society of socialist intellectuals and radicals (name to be decided)

The Whitechapel Working Mens’ Vigilance Committee

TRANSPORT

Hansom Cab now fully built

A donkey cart and a hand cart

That’s it for the mo; I might do some painting next (which could also include a return to the Old West).

Lovely stuff Steve. :-*

Some great conversion work on those figures.

Now very much looking froward to seeing them with paint and then getting a game in ;D

That's a fine collection of figures there, topped off by that marvellous cab. Jaque is a particularly nice conversion.
