More 15mm Scratch Built AFV's & IFV's
Hello again all,
To continue with my previous post here are more Scratch Built AFV's & IFV's.
2 of my favourite models are GZG 15mm Phalanx & Paladin. Even if they have been designed years ago they are still very scifi looking & never seem to get old.
My main concerns with them are that they are made of heavy metal which can be disastrous if model slips from the hand & they are low as vehicles go ( though they would look very plausible as 10mm or AI controlled ones ).
So I decided to do my versions of them.
As usual the hulls are very straight forward, made out of card of card , see the first pic for the tanks plan. The chassis are made of wood & card with marker cap based wheels. The axles are made from metal pop rivet leftovers . Turrets are made from PVC ( e.g. billboard type material & cotton bud barrels for the  twin missile launchers ).
They're not perfect but came out great for gaming
I undercoated 3 in black & light sprayed with grey primer.

Enjoy
Z

Zrunelord I am amazed the marvelous things that you build from throwaway junk  :o
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Whenever I try to build anything from random bits, it just looks like a mess of random bits. Your work on the other hand, is artistry!

I particularly like the first ones you posted.

Thanks all :D :D :D

Believe me & I'm saying this to encourage all...
Some years ago I used to be "afraid" for want of a better word to take on scratchbuilding, I had a mate of mine who did marvellous work from any kind of stuff. I used to marvel at what he did & wondered where to start but always held back.
You know like when you painted your first mini.
Then one day I just took the step & never looked back.

So my advise is , don't think about what you are going to do , just do it. Everything falls into place .
You'll see, once you start you will be happy that you are saving the world one bit at a time by reusing & recycling  ;)

Start with a simple build, build a cube out of cereal box card or even better a hexagon pillbox.
You have to get handtools because these are half the work. Look at what impression a tool will do on card , pvc, thin metal ( eg. sardine can lid) & get it ( oh. & be careful of wrist injury when you press)

Note to self...
I really , really must post a step by step how I build something..... will do hopefully soon......
