Oh, good tartan chap!  :)

Still in two minds about Redoubt figures, but posts like these are starting to sway me in their favour.

Nice to see a good sized line up, great stuff.

I too am unsure of Redoubt. I have recently finished a unit of theirs, the first of their figs I have ever painted, and quite enjoyed them although they did have some excenticities. I bought them at Triples and would have bought more but I only selected the good castings and rejected way too many as not good enough. This made me certain to not order by mail in the future.

Fantastic range as these show, over many great periods so I will definately be dipping in again.

Be sure to post the next unit - or even the opposition.

Next unit in june probably... (If I do not buy some perry sudan brits here to save in the postage) I took the picture two days ago before moving back to london... here my painting bench has (at the moment) only some figurehead world war two ships... But I have painted some small gifts to my reidence mate that I have duly photographed... (and here light is muuuch better!) I will try to post them later.

I hate to be 1126 kilometers from my painting area and my miniature barracks!  o_o

Those look great.  I was also thinking about adding a unit of them to my force.  Love the tartans.  I see that you based them by threes, what rules do you use?
Redoubt has some good figures, but there are some that are not that great and I think that these bad figs turn some people off of them.  Their Zulu range are giants but their Sudan range is very nice.  Keep up the great painting and please post more pics.

Very nice.
Lovely job on the tartan and the sock tops.
I have the Perry ones sitting in my lead mountain. I want to paint them but I am busy with the LPL.
Seeing yours has inspired me to dig them out and try some to see how I get on.
What colours did your use for the tartan.

In order:

when I first painted them they were based on single 20x20mm bases for maximum flexibilty and for a ruleset I was writing... then I have decided that regular troops are better in multiple bases (and that for irregular I can cheat with creative basing...  :D ) so in the end I have decided for 40x40mm as perfect base size... then decided that 3 redoubt piecese were perfect on it...

as rules I use colonial adventures cheating a bit on the units size, I simply states a standard equiavlent for each base...

As for tartans the colors are the regimental ones: blue base with green (darker and lighter) lines. The exact colors (If I recall them correctly) are: vallejo dark prussian blue for the base, prussian blue for the highlight, russian green for the base line, american uniform green for the central line.
