SA 2nd ed Question
« on: February 20, 2018, 09:30:57 AM »
Where in the rulebook does it reference duel stats and how they're used. For example, the Formless Thing has Con 6/8, I know it must be something to do with armor, I just can't find where in the book it covers this.

The first value is the unmodified CON, the second usually applies to some form of armour (or tough/scaly skin on a Lurker) - if the weapon used has an AP value (such as the AP of 1 for the knife or 2 for the axe) & if its AP is equal/greater than the CON difference given by the higher value over the lower, (for the Formless Thing the increase is 2 points of CON) the target's CON drops to the lower value - so an axe, with an AP of two would drop the Formless Thing's CON back to its 'natural' 6.
As to where it is in the rulebook, I'm afraid that without it to hand I couldn't say.

Cool, i thought so. I remember that from the 1st ed, just couldnt find any reference in the new book in case anything had been changed.

Another couple of questions:

1) How many dice do you role when making an Insanity Test? I assume 1, but can't see where it actually says so.

2) If some one fails a Insanity Test, once they're back up, do they have to take it again if the issue that caused them to drop is still there? I assume so, because it only mentions models who pass their test have conquered their fears

1.) 1 die

2.) I have always played: If you fail, and live and face the same reason to check once again (in the same scenario), you must test again.  I think it only came up once or twice.  Of course, once you pass you need not check for the same "reason"; but a "Hideous" zombie is not the same as a "Hideous" witch (for example).

My over-valued 2 cents,
Scott
