Had a bit of a play around with some magnets at the weekend for the cargo freighter. Drilled a hole in one of the new releases for the same magnets that are in the joining beam (the yellow ones are the original).

I’ve had a little ‘thing’ hanging around for a while now and decided to cast it and stick magnets in it too and bottom as it’ll be just right for a TIE boarding tube. I also added magnets in the top of the TIEs but there’s no photos of that. I will need to sort some out for the rebel ships as this is more in keeping with the rebellion. The principle works for the boarding tubes so there’s no reason I can’t do another ship that’s more Imperial looking...

The tubes also work with cargo and could represent it being lowered or raised. They can also be fit in between the TIEs but it’s a bit of a squeeze.

What scale are TIEs?

That really increases the uses for the model, lovely stuff.

Ties the whole thing together nicely!

seeing the frigate makes me want to play the old x wing computer game. I won't though as I imagine it hasn't aged very well at all. A very impressive build.

I played through the entire expanded TIE-Fighter game (including all the expansions) again just last year, and even though the graphics are obviously dated, I found it was still a joy to play, even after all these years 8)

It has inspired me on several occasions to create custom scenario's for X-Wing (the FFG variant) to play, and those were always fun too :)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Belated thanks gents  :)

I'm still waiting for a modern version of the X-wing computer game to surface. I'd be all over that like a rash  lol

Hopefully having a game on Tuesday and in the meantime I've been doing scatter terrain here and there whilst waiting for other stuff to dry.

Good old Tag and Bink for scale  :D
