I think you are going to need to have a removable crane so that folks can put a plant pot in it when it is not on the table!

The legs and lower chassis have been detailed. A coat of primer tomorrow will show it off a bit better. The legs have been magnetised (the yellow is some scrap 3mm I had) but they still need the curved fenders sorting for the tops. The body needs a bit of a sand and I think I’ve got a half tube somewhere for the underneath.



It doesn’t look it but the yellow ring is in the middle.




There are panels glued on but because they’re clear it’s hard to make them out.

Combined with the ‘peg and hole’ thing going on with them, yes. I’ll probably have to do something different with the crane as it’ll be quite front heavy when loaded up.

Got it all primed and have started drawing the upper works. I’ll be a doing a simple interior as it seems a waste to seal it up given how it’s so big 

I’ll be doing some panels in different colours and lots of weathering

I'm telling ya, you need an alternative top with plants so that you can place it inside the entrance to your house. Folks will go nuts when they see it!

That’s brilliant and a nice bit of background non-frontline/destructive tech that adds great depth. Maybe instead of plants I’d build a removable/magnetised alternate bowl top for it and put nibbles into it on my coffee table. Apologies if I’ve missed it but do you have a crane you’re going to adapt or are you going to scratch build?
