Makes sense that samurai figures could be so easily adapted. Just a simple bit of plastic rod I assume? It looks quite nice.

And Michi, if you don't mind me asking, what figure did you convert yours from? It looks good too.

Actually she wasn't converted. I've got the model from LAF member Vodkafan back in the days. He might remember (regretfully I don't).

It’s a cut down laser blast from a Bandai 1/72 Star Wars kit. They do red ones as well  :)
cheers

I do remember that figure Michi. I have never been able to find another one since, and can't remember her provenance.  I remember you liked her because you thought she would paint up nice.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Yet another slight diversion  ::)

This has been sat on the shelf for many months now but I finished it last night and took some shots.

I’m calling it an MC220 (because it’s 220mm long  lol ). The body was a pla print in three parts and the guns and engines are resin prints. I’ve got it in mind to do another Mon Cal cruiser but have it as a sort of fleet carrier and include the hanger bays.

It was sprayed grey, the panels were painted on by hand and the panel lines were drawn on with a pencil and masking tape as a guide (they’re a bit more distinct in real life).

The blockade runner is from Bandai, the larger imperial ships are both scratchbuilt and the fighters are from Shapeways I believe.

Great work! I love it. Admittedly I have a soft spot for Mon Calamari.

When I think Mon Calamari, I think huge ships, stardestroyer size. But obviously, there would be smaller ships, with the same design language.

Great work painting it!   8)

I still need to get used to the large bridge at the front of the ship though...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Yeah, the 'pod bridge' didn't quite fit with me at this sort of size ship. The windows are under 2mm though so it's not that big  :)

Thanks  :)

Yeah. The only trouble is having to back over the areas that have been handled. It’s almost like painting the Forth bridge  lol
