Thanks, all!

Nice kitbashing there. Good idea to add a little bit of height to the Oathmark body. The witch is also really cool, is that a Fireforge zombie peasant body?

Yes, well spotted. The zombie peasant kit is a kitbasher's dream, tons of rusted, worn bits to use for virtually anything.

I keep telling myself I'll finally get on with my Undead log, but I just can't stop building knights. Another unit of Black Order heavy cavalry for the Franticon event (Kings of War singles and doubles and Kings of War: Vanguard) in London in March, plus the mounted version of Selianin, the brutal Knight-Marshal of the Order. WIPs ahoy...

Oh yes, and another little something I threw together recently - I wanted a slightly more emaciated, corrupted version of a forest spirit, something not totally different to a Leshen, for another eventual project. Here's the proof of concept:

" ... the seventh wave of Thrall stumbled and climbed over the slippery, piled dead and Mazzarin saw The Watcher with them and at last knew the number of his days."

I like the forest spirit especially, as if some gnarly tree came to life!  :D

Cheers chaps, yep, quite keen to see how the forest spirit comes out.

Had the chance to get away recently to the mountain range of Krkonoše in the Czech Republic, where I turned 30 amid snowy weather befitting the Black Order's environs. Just a pic (or two...) of the area - really inspiring for snowy bases!

Really like the forest spirit, and the photos are just the ticket for inspiration...very jealous of your trip to the Czech Republic...or the thought of only being 30  lol

Wonderful thread overall. Loads of inspiration, great painting, great narrative background...from the cold north that is!

Perfect.

Meanwhile, I forgot a hat because it was merely raining in Indiana, but it was sub 20 degrees and snowing in Chicago when I walked out of Union Station Friday night.  My hair froze to my head  :o  and the wind was so strong you'd think normal snowflakes were bits of hail!

Cheers for the kind words chaps 'n' chapesses. Not feeling too bad about the whole 4th decade thing...

Made quite a lot of progress so have a bit of a backlog of stuff to share. Let's start with some pics of some counters I made for Rangers of Shadow Deep, Frostgrave, Kings of War, Kings of War: Vanguard and maybe SAGA too.

A lot of stuff in there, from wound counters, to disordered/wavered counters, to scenario-specific objectives. Still working out a scenario to use the campfire in - 'The Dying of the Light' has a nice ring to it, as a scouting party tries to survive the night against hordes of undead while the light starts to wither and die out...

Here's a scenario objective marker/bit of scatter terrain I made, slightly inspired by the shrine to Talos in Skyrim, and the shrines in Diablo that gave you combat bonuses:

Until the next update!
