Lovely buildings. This is definitely the definitive Japanese range of buildings.

Love the buildings but would really like to see them with removable roofs, so much of the Samurai trend these days seems to be skrimish games, Ronin, Test of Honour and others. All really benifit from builings that you can put your figures into.

I have not picked up any in quite awhile as I have a bunch of ones from Tre, 4Ground and others that have lift of rooms and interiors.

I'm afraid removable roofs won't be an option. We play plenty of skirmish games in many different periods and virtually none of the buildings we use have removable roofs, it certainly doesn't detract from the game play at all  :)

Ronin, Test of Honour and others. All really benefit from buildings that you can put your figures into.

Only if you choose to play it that way  ;)

As the traditional Japanese buildings were pretty small in general, I don't find it an issue with not having removable roofs. Personally I'd rather have a good quality, good looking building than one I wasn't as happy with in quality and aesthetic terms but with a removable roof. Having seen most of the Japanese ranges (mdf through to resin) over a very long period of dithering (detailed research and procrastination!) I went for Oshiro and I am very happy with them.

Really nice additions there Jim 👍 very sharp

Pitching in on the removable roof debate- I play nothing but skirmish level and have never felt like a game suffered from not having a removable roof.  Since figures are restricted by their bases anyway you don't really get a fair representation of who can fit where inside a building.  If I ever have elements of my games inside a building I just draw a floor plan on some paper and use that, but my games do tend to be a tad looser with the rules than most other people though so I'm hardly a standard case study  ;)

Finally started adding to the 28mm Japanese catalogue again (15mm will be added to in due course) this time starting with a simple blacksmiths. The code is JV-07 and it'll go in the catalogue next week. It's £27.50 and comes in seven parts (shown below).

It's being moulded tomorrow and I'll start to cast them up later in the week.

cheers

James

Looks nice, James.
Is there a historical example on which the smithy is based on?

The equipment certainly and the actual house is conjecture from several sources. I've had to simplify it somewhat to make it castable.

Thanks for the answer, I know that the equipment is right.
I was more wondering about the placement of the forge as such  ;)
