28mm Star Trek figures
« on: May 08, 2009, 06:17:04 PM »
Finally I got them cast up, obviously I don't like them so I'm going to go for a third set hoping that it's third time lucky. The sculpts are good, it's just I'm a picky bastard and 'I know what I want' :)

I have some to get rid of if people are interested, six figures (4 male, 2 female) and an assortment of heads, arms, weapons etc for each £10.00 donation to my site, worldwide postage is included.

these were painted by Andy Mac, and a very good job he did too.

Hmm...  interesting. Since my better half likes Star Trek a lot I surely need to paint up a set of these for her. I just have to make sure she won't see them before they are finished  ::)
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

These look pretty cool :)

For some reason, looking at them, they remind me of the old star wars action figures that I grew up with. Think it might be the way the shoulder and various other joints are sculpted, making them resemble more toys than normal minis.

However, on saying that, for some reason, they bring to mind the cartoon series rather than the old tv series. I know the cartoon was fairly well drawn, but for some reason, that toy like appearance just brings to my mind the cartoon rather than the tv series :D

Like them though and probably aiming to pick some up as well :)

I think those are great! I look at that group and I can just feel an old-fashioned Federation ass-kicking coming on. Well done.

One miniature is too many, and a thousand are not enough...

I got mine in the mail today.  I like them overall, although the proportions are not quite right on the women-- it's more noticeable to me in the bare lead than in the painted pics.

I'll probably start on them right away; I really feel like painting something sci-fi.  I've been on a long historical streak, and a change will be welcome.

Mine arrived today - thanks Matakishi, great service as well as lovely figures. If I could think of a way of including the cat in my games, I'd buy one too. Maybe I could use him as a cute and cuddly looking alien who is actually a vicious and lethal killing machine. Hmm.....

I will paint them up and post the pics ..... in about a year or so  lol

Off to see the film tomorrow ;D
