1/56 support for your Rolls Royce Armored Cars
« on: May 12, 2009, 11:57:02 PM »
Well, now that we have all the Rolls Armored Cars out and about, its about time they get some support vehicles!.

We will release this month, the Rolls Royce Tender!

It will come with several windscreen options (armored, open and split) as well as an addon stowage pack.  Of course several crew options (pictured) are available.

And yes, we do have the option to get it with the chap pictured below:

Plenty more cars, armored and not in pipeline....  So best get your Model T contest entries in to me so I can wrap that up and start up a new contest as well!

Nice!  :-*

Now, some questions;

Do the Rolls Royce Cars were used by any other army than the British? How about the French? Do they use RR as well?
Do you plan on doing a AA Gun version?
Will this vehicle be available thru Brigade Games or only thru Company B?

That is bitchin!  Love the passenger with his foot on the door as well.

The only thing that bugs me are the solid wire wheels.  I wish there were a way around that problem.

And since I'm responding to your excellent new model, I have to admit that I'm one of the people who bought one of your Model T kits with every intention of turning it into something strange and wonderful.  Unfortunately, there it sits on my painting table, about halfway done...and there's no way I'll be able to force myself to work on it while the LPL is going on.  I apologize.  I should just whip up something fast and send you an image.  Perhaps in the next couple weeks, which I'm supposed to have off.

Primarily the Brits, Palestine and later on ireland, India.  Some did show up in Russia.

Send us plans or a picture for the AA version and we'll have a look.

We built this specifcally to support the Brigade Games new Arab Revolt line and will eventually be availbale from them.  Of course it can be used in a myriad of other locations.

With some careful dry brushing they actually look pretty good.

I love it. The junk in the back really makes shine it for me. A lovely finishing touch.

One question. Do you know how your vehicles match up to the Copplestone Roller? I've got one and would love this piece to go with it. Trouble is it is quite small. I'm wondering whether they would they look silly together.

Hi Dylan, yes it would look silly next to the Copplestone model.

Michael Broadbent has designed this tender based on the previous models he designed for Company B/Brigade Games. I've watched this vehicle over sometime an it's a lovely gem.

The driver and passengers are designed by Michael too.

Hope this helps.

"Some did show up in Russia."

To be more precise it appears that one showed up in Russia, as part of Locker Lampson's squadron. It was either abandoned or captured as there are a couple of photos of it in Bolshevik hands, including one in rather mixed company in Moscow.

That tender is a very nice model. The AA gun version referred to is probably the one off RNAS conversion to the standard armoured car with a shielded 1 pdr pompom replacing the turret. There's no evidence it ever saw active service or indeed ventured outside of the UK. For photos see David Fletcher's War Cars, p-30

Hm...do I see spare tyres? I think a bit of paper, cardboard, plasticard and thin wire could work for those mad modelers out there. Using cleverly disguised pins from the chassis to tyres there wouldn't have to be any weight on the wires themselves.

Hmmm. I am theoretically all set with all the ACs I need but this one's so I may just have to order me a couple of Rollers to park next with my Crossleys and Lancaster.

....

Reading what I just wrote makes me feel like a real playah... :)
