When there's no more room in Hell, this will walk the earth.

 :D

Funny enough, I did try to steal the horrible mouth from Brett Ewins' amazing artwork depicting howling demon mouths.
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

Finally done. This has been one of those pet projects that dragged on and on and sometimes the more I seemed to work on it, the further the end seemed to be. But the end product is pretty much what I had in mind from the start - I wanted him to look completely insane and out of control, as any self-respecting frenzied Chaos Hobgoblin should. Just to recap, this old Citadel character was meant to have Chaos mutations including a mace tail, poisonous bite and pink & blue patched skin. I also wanted to combine this with a Eurasian steppe-warrior aesthetic.

Brilliant! Fantastic sculpt. Painted up, the face has a nod to the old Aly Morrison stuff - but suitably distorted. Bravo!

Great sculpt - incredible character, and fantastic paint-job, 'natch.

Not really seeing the Eurasian Steppes thing too much - which is fine by me tbh.

Another 'Labour of Love' classic model for me over the summer - the Nick Lund Citadel (Chronicle, but sold under licence I believe) 'Goblin Warlord Chariot'. This is a great piece that I had back in the day to try to counter my brother's hated Dwarf cannon, the philosophy being that if I could gallop the chariot down the flank fast enough (accompanied by the single Orc wolf rider I owned) it would survive long enough to take out the cannon. It never did, not once, but it was a lovely model all the same. I foolishly sold mine many years ago and picked this up about 5 years back, meaning to paint it but ... you know ... life gets in the way. Finally it's here, one of my all time favourite pieces and a great heavy metal lump it is too. The reins are an old tomato puree tube cut into thin strips with scissors (the driver clearly has reins wrapped around his hands and wrists so I couldn't leave them out).

Amazing chariot. Lovely work as always. I'll use the tube idea in the future, thanks!

Nuthin like old wood and rusty steel; just a couple of the boyz out with their dawgs cruisin the hood!

I'm a fan of that style, love his Black Orcs, and you've really elevated it to another level.

Bravo!

Glorious! I enjoyed the sneak preview of Bogdan a few months (years?) back - great to see him in his proper place! Nice skin-tone variation with the driver, too.

And amazing work on the wolves - those pelt schemes really bring Lund's stylised "essence of wolf" alive.
