If you will forgive the clutter, here are 3 basilisks I finished last night.

3d designer, sculptor and printer, at your service!

Really, really good.
There seem to be no printlines, do you sand the minis after printing?
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

Thanks man,

I clean up the bottoms where the supports are attached mostly. I sand where needed but on those basilisks, the cleanup didn't involve any sanding at all.

Amazing, considering how many printlines are on Shapeway prints, this is quite an achievement!

Yup, I'm not out of a job yet. But like I said there is a trade-off in the supports. But since most wargaming miniatures have a bottom that sits on the table anyway...

The basilisk have come out very nice. The black lines on the camo work well on them

I am very impressed with the quality of these prints. The print time seems reasonable too - you can only paint them so fast, so it seems you can have stuff printing, and then paint it, in more of a production line style, rather than the normal buy a big pile of stuff, then try to get round to painting it.

This thread is making 3D printing much more attractive.

Definitely true fred! I need to watch how much I print for myself since it's my main money maker as well.

Thanks steders! The warhound was the first print of this project and what got me hooked on just printing the entire force!

Yep, while a 3D printer is in my future, threads like this don't help me wait.  lol  Particularly for stuff like Epic which is dead and gone and unsupported (though official channels).  Being able to print the bulk of your army is fantastic.

I'm with you. With the release of Adeptus Titanicus a lot of people are 3d printing bits and it makes me want to get a printer as well. :'(

Cheers guys,

Just keep in mind I could have bought a LOT of adaptus titanicus sets for the price of my 3d printer, not to mention the price of the resin.  o_o

Oh, for sure.  That's why I haven't jumped on the $250 printer bandwagon.

I was talking about this, there are a number of far cheaper resin printers out there (sparkmaker for instance) that have lots of potential but also huge flaws. Many of those flaws can be fixed with some elbow grease and replacement parts. The actual value and use of those machines is debatable (though the price matches that fact) however once other people learn from their mistakes and improve upon it I think we will see a new category of middle priced consumer resin printers in the 500-1000 euro range that might be worth it form miniature gamers.

Bit of firepower today, some far range and some up close.  Hellhound flame tanks and basilisk SPGs.

The basilisk is, of course, a mainstay of the imperial guard and the classic howitzer style artillery piece.

The hellhound, on the other hand, has a very close range anti-infantry flamethrower that is good at flushing the buggers out of cover, which is a huge pain in the ass in epic!
