King Zombie Figures

Kingzombie has just come out with a new of Zombies. 28mm (?) 1st responders and survivors for $39.99  Nice company to deal with and fast shipping
You get 20 figures in the set. 19 humans and 1 dog. All of them are nicely sculpted (but big somewhat comical and chucky) and very gory.

Here are some comparison photos.  Sorry I did not have an Artizan figure But I think I put in a fair variety. Most of these are in various stage of completion.
1st are a group of cops: Old glory,Griffin, King zombie and Crocodile game.

Females: Heresy, King zombie, Coppelstone, Bronze age and Hasselfree.

Zombie: Studio,Coppelstone,King zombie,Griffin and Cold wars.

More Females:Copplestone, Old glory, King zombie and Hasslefree.

Thanks a lot for the pics, Bandit. I have a much better idea of their scale now. I hope you'll share some more when you get the rest of the King Zombie guys painted. I must say they seem a bit more big-headed and cartoony than they looked in their unpainted pictures at the KZ site. How would you say they stack up aesthetically against the heavy hitters like Studio, Griffin or Cold War?

So in summary, they are fricking HUGE. 

Might look alright with Griffin, as they are pretty chunky (sorry, full-bodied zombies), but against Hasslefree/Cold War/Studio/Mississinewa/Black Orc/Eureka/Brigade etc (oh, and Wargames Factory) they look a tad excessive....shame.

Well they are a lot bigger than I thought they would be too.  But still they are nice sculpting’s and were fun to paint.  I think you can see from the photos that hasslefree, studio and cold wars(very thin) mix well together. Coppelstone would be in the middle and could go either way.   Griffin, West Wind and Reaper would go (and Maybe King Zombie) But that’s only if your really stuck on scale .  I am glad this helped.

They seem very "cartoony", with the heads being out of scale. The height of most human bodies is 7.5 to 8 times the length of the head (with the span of the arms from finger tip to finger tip also being approx 8 heads). Standing upright at "attention" the finger tips should reach to approx mid-thigh. The standing figure seems to have a total height of four "heads" with arms reaching to his knees. The kneeling figure also seems to be too tall, which is a common failing in wargames figures. This could be a trick of camera perspective, of course. Look at the Copplestone and Hasslefree examples in the pics for more accurate proportions. Probably one of the reasons these companies ( along with the Perrys) are so popular. I believe people either consciously or subconsciously recognize their accurate proportions and can relate to them easily.

They are not my cup of tea, but I wouldn't criticize others for having them
